After doing the communication self-assessment, I realized that my communication combines all four styles, which are Action, Process, People and Idea. According to the exercise, the score for each skill is not too much different, which shows that I do not have any preference or bad skill. In my opinion, this is good and bad at the same time. It is good because I can develop any skill I want and become better at it. However, it is bad because I do not see my strength point in my communicating skill, which means that I am either better or worse than other people in communicating. In the assessment, I score the higher score in two sections, action and idea. This is because I always focus on the result first and use as many resources as I can in order to get the result. In my exploring leadership team, it helps me set up the goal for other people before doing a project. For example, before the interview for our project, we prepare a set of questions that would help us get the information we need from the interviewee and save us time from unnecessary information. In addition, we uses our network to choose an interviewee for our project because it would save us time finding a suitable one and also get better result because we can trust the interviewee more, who we have already known before. However, because I am strong with idea communication style, I sometimes try to find more concepts related to our topic in order to get a better result, which is time-consuming and leads to more information than the team actually need.
