In my opinion, privilege is an advantage or source of pleasure granted to a person. For example, a person who is born in a rich family has a privilege over other people who do not have the same money situation. They will grow up with better education, living environment, etc. I considered myself having the privilege of receiving a better education than many of my friends back in Vietnam when studying college here in the United States. Compared to my friends, I use English as the language of communication instead of Vietnamese, which is really important and also a big advantage if I want to come back to work in a company at home. In addition, I got access to many fine studying environments like computer labs, libraries that are much better than those in Vietnam. The student clubs and organizations here are also more vibrant and serve almost every interest of students in college. Also, I got a lot of support from the college to find a suitable internship or co-op position while still studying in school. These are the examples of privileges that I got from studying abroad instead of attending a college in Vietnam. These privileges will benefit me with having a good preparation for my future career, helping build my confidence to meet and talk with people in the future when interviewing for a job. However, all of these privileges would be worthless if I cannot utilize it to get myself better skills. It is like having a lot of money in my pocket but instead of investing it to make more money, I spend it on worthless things. Therefore, I have to make the most out of the condition I have now so I can still consider studying abroad to my privilege.
